PERFORMATIVE ACTIVISM POSTERS
In the second year of my studies in the academy, we had the assignment to create posters with the theme "Protest". There was a lockdown at the moment because of the coronavirus, so people were particularly immersed in the world of the internet. They fiercely expressed their opinions in the comment sections which led to the division into different groups, who had completely different views on the most relevant issues of that time. And that is when Facebook frames reached the peak of their usage and popularity.
Performative activism is done to increase one's social capital (in social media that would be likes, followers, etc.) rather than because of one's devotion to a cause. And that is the reason why I chose to look at the usage of Facebook frames from an ironic point of view comparing people with a
herd of animals.
