THE BLACK DOOR
The Black Door
I want to explain a little about this and why my subconscious mind forced me to take it.
I don't always understand the 'process' of picture taking. Sometimes it feels like the subject draws me and asks me to take it.
So what is the Black Door for me?
In some ways it can represent the fear of death and the potential of something brighter beyond. It is that dark mystery that bars us from understanding unless we are prepared to walk through it and embrace it. Black, because it seems to draw us to it but not in a fanciful, advertorial way, more like a black hole draws light and matter to its seemingly eternal pit. It does not cheer you or enlighten, it merely summonds you by the density of its presence.
So I think it was my unconcious or sub-conscious saying, 'hey - look at this'
There is light behind the illusion of death.
There is hope after the carnage of war
There is something greater within us that wants to meet you
Through the Black Door.
