For my major degree project I became interested in the principle of tactical place making and the positive effecs it could have on both the urban environment and the surrounding commutity. As I explored the designated site for the project I realised that this area had great potential to be developed in this way.
After gaining permission to push the existing boundaries of the course I developed both theoretical and practical tactical place making projects. Some of these are explored in more detail in the rest of my portfolio; this project showcases the graphical representations, of the projects, that I used as part of my degree show.
Before I developed the above six projects I researched the princple of tactical place making to fully understand the concepts behind it and it's possible results. This involved analysing many case studies the most influential being Times Square in New York.
After intial exploration of the designated area I highlighted zones which to me inspired tactical interventions.
The following boards show the theoretical work that I developed to compliment the pratical projects I enacted. Detailed project to follow.
