Went back out to capture speeding race cars during the Sports Car Club of America Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series (SCCA MARRS) event at Summit Point Motorsports Park. This was done for a school project with a few objectives to achieve.
The objective for the project was to capture cars at speed and to take on a bit of a tableau approach, which is something I usually avoid with my photos but had to make an attempt at it.
Returning to the track felt like a calming breeze of relief. You know that feeling going back to or revisiting something that is familiar to you and makes you happy? The feeling of excitement soars through you as you act on the exact moment to get that "sweet shot".
I find this project to be a success and a good learning experience to try something a bit out of your normal routine. This was also a great opportunity to see if my Lightroom skills are still intact (I hope so). Just a few edits with clarity, color balance and highlights was just enough to bring up my images from standard to ultra standard. When I get the chance again, I will return to the track and try to better my photo editing technique.
