Photographic Postcards

Two images each of two very different abandoned commercial buildings. A former Waterford Co-Op creamery which was closed in the 80's due to Irelands financial hardship at that time. A B&Q building in a retail park which was closed two years ago due to huge economic downturn in Ireland.
The brief was for a set of four commercial postcards on the theme of Zen. I found that these formerly busy buildings are now peaceful. Ireland has come a full circle back into recession over the past thirty years. Building techniques and many other things have changed in this time. But in another way, everything is the same.
I used the "squaring the circle" theory as a visual cue. The postcards unite into one large square, each having a part of the circle on it. I created a square package with a simple circle motif to give further impact to the theme.
