NIKE Dance
Year / 2011
Hip-hop and Zumba dances are prominent activities, yet dedicated footwear options for women are surprisingly scarce. The idea behind this school project was to develop a footwear design that could encompass the flavor and essence of these urban dance forms.
The contrast of sensuality and strength found in these dance forms led me to compare two different activities that shared a common trait: the wrap of a boxer’s hands and ballet slippers. Merging these concepts created a common design language that focuses on clean, contrasting, geometric patterns.
