Makeen is a Saudi company that specializes in manufacturing marine engines and pumps. It was established in 2022 as a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, Hyundai Heavy Industries and Dussur Company.
Makeen aims to support the national economy, create employment opportunities, and develop sustainable supply chains to meet local and regional demand. In 2023, Makeen partnered with
Rolls Royce Solutions GmbH to localize the manufacture of high-speed engines for the defense
and security sector.
Objective
Makeen is a company that aims to be a leader in the field of marine engine and pump manufacturing in the Middle East and beyond. The main goal was to showcase Makeen's innovative, reliable, and sustainable solutions that meet the needs of its customers and partners. Makeen wants to build a reputation as a trusted and responsible company that contributes to the economic and social development of Saudi Arabia and the region.
Solution
Our design solution reflects a journey of innovation and empowerment in which the logo is based on the long industrial history and the association of quality plates and their stamp with industries for centuries.
History, since the first industrial revolution, has not witnessed heavy production such as iron and machinery unless a quality stamp has been placed on it, demonstrating the status and efficiency of the manufacturer in the global market.
We were motivated to create the logo by the notion of the three elements that make up the strength of the triangle alliance of the three most powerful human minds—Aramco, Dussur, and Hyundai Heavy Industries. This brought them together under the Makeen brand, an organization whose goal is to rewrite history and advance the present global transition.
The pattern created to broaden the design system and represent the icon's essential component. The pattern injects fluidity and dynamicity into the brand's digital and physical buildout by using the waves. In accordance with the message and content, the elements are flexible and function together through an adaptable system. The design language maintains an editorial feeling, with photography playing a vital part in showcasing the workers, marine, and result of the innovations driven by Makeen.
Each element of the identification system represents how Makeen will eventually become the primary supplier for several local and international industries with excellent quality and competitive pricing.
