Cat's Cradle Book Jacket
Description: For this project we had to create a book jacket design for a book of our choice. I chose Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle, a book about a mans crazy journey that eventually leads to the end of the world. The story's catalyst is the main character's novel on the "Father of the Atomic Bomb" that dropped in Hiroshima. Because the book cover had to be type driven for this assignment, I decided I to spell the words in ash. I burnt paper to create the ash and carved the title into it to photograph. I wanted the cover to be ominous and intrigue the viewer into picking up the book.
