Riding the Concrete Waves: A Photostory on the space culture in the World of Indian Skateboarders
Skateboarding culture has been gradually growing in India, and it is starting to gain more recognition and popularity among the youth in urban areas. India's skateboarding scene is centered around cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore, where skateboarding parks, events, and communities have started to emerge.
In this photostory we see Skaters on the Land of Mojoland, an adventure park based in Sonipat, Haryana. On their blog they state, "According to Harsha Manadava, the man who built Mojoskate, the skate park initially started out as an element of the Mojoland adventure theme park, but it has now become the epicentre of fun and adventure at the Mojoland adventure theme park. This a testament to the popularity of the skateboarding and the growing need for skateparks in India."
Skateboarding in India is still a niche subculture, but it is slowly becoming more mainstream. Many young Indians have been attracted to skateboarding's unique and creative elements, and the skateboarding community has become a platform for self-expression, artistic creativity, and urban adventure.

The skateboarding scene in India is largely DIY, with many skateboarders building their own ramps and obstacles using cheap and locally-sourced materials. The community is also very tight-knit, and skaters often band together to support each other, organize events and contests, and promote the sport to a wider audience.
In Mumbai, the skateboarding community has established a number of local skate parks, such as the Mahalaxmi Skatepark, which is the biggest skate park in India, and has become a hub for skateboarders and graffiti artists. The city also hosts annual skateboarding events, like the All India Skateboarding Championships, which draws skateboarders from all over the country.
In Bangalore, there is the Holystoked Collective, which is a skateboarding community that organizes skateboarding events, workshops, and classes. The community has also helped to create a number of skate parks in the city, including the popular Play Arena Skatepark, which has hosted several skateboarding events and contests.
Overall, skateboarding culture in India is still in its early stages, but it is growing and gaining momentum. The community is enthusiastic, creative, and supportive, and it is helping to bring more attention to this exciting sport and subculture in India.
