TRANSATLANTIC SOLO
Perfume packaging design-concept

There is nothing more refreshing than the smell of the sea and the fresh breeze gently brushing against your face. This exact feeling is what the new "BQT" aroma is trying to replicate. This perfume is not just a scent; it is the sea breeze, the sound of waves and seagulls, and the gentle crashing of the waves encapsulated in the bottle and released every time you use it.  This project's main objective lies in finding the right balance between making an efficient design and keeping the ocean aesthetic, and allowing these aspects to make an impactful and eye-catching bottle. A suitable name was also required since it had to carry across the correct associations with the bottle.

Solution
To further elaborate and accentuate the ‘freshness’ we decided to turn the packaging into a piece of the ocean. Through this process we have decided to go with a yacht design, with a major part of the packaging dedicated to the ocean. The see-through glass bottle and the perfume inside play into the oceanic theme, with the yacht sails hiding the atomizer nozzle. The name was specifically chosen to reflect the character of the fragrance, as well as the audience that will buy it.
“TransAtlantic Solo” – meaning the journey across the Atlantic, represents the urge to follow your dreams, nature, and your fate. Only people with a strong character and determination, will be able to take on this challenge. People who are fearless and will always take on the call of the wild.

Structure & elements
To have the current idea be somewhat realistic, it was essential to think through some of the unique technical and creative aspects of the packaging.

—Two additional underwater elements were implemented for the yacht's visual aesthetics: the keel and the steering fin. For this sake, there are two small openings on the bottle instead of one.

—Both elements are made of soft plastic, also adding the function of preventing any leaks.

—Inside the keel, a small tube goes to the atomiser spray nozzle.

—The sail is connected to the main frame of the ship in such a way that it would be impossible to orient the sail the wrong way, ensuring that the perfume looks as intended all the time.

Outer packaging
To protect the perfume from potential damage during transportation, we have created a 3-layer solution to ensure that the perfume bottle arrives safely. The first layer is the cardboard box with the logo branding on it. The second one is a plastic case which will contain the perfume in it.
This plastic case has stickers of seagulls and whales to add to the scent's theme. Due to the multilayered nature of these cases, this effect creates an illusion of gliding whales and soaring seagulls.
