This was a fun project for a great client.  Kar Global bought 2 spaces for their 2020 CES exhibit. The first (and larger) space would be an enclosed interactive experience to 'bring to life' the process of finding one's perfect vehicle.  The second space is a vehicle showcase with meeting rooms to connect with clients.

Kar Global wanted three interactive moments in the first space but I wanted these experiences to be more independent from each other.  So instead of a room that housed three experiences, I wanted three separate and self-contained rooms or theaters.  To accomplish this, the space is arranged like a digestive tract made up of three U-turns. Walls would be arranged to filter the view of one space from the next to create separation while also maintaining good throughput.

Of course budget was an issue for this program.  A tight budget will discourage a designer especially using conventional production methods. I have always loved tight budgets because they often challenge me to come up with something novel.
Look closely and you'll discover that most of the walls are fabric pieces suspended from the ceiling. This had an effect of letting people outside the space see the legs of the people inside the space traveling through the experience.  It generated curiosity and interest.

The space was a big success at CES and it won Best of Show Award for 'Best Large Exhibit'.  It was the first time I had won such an award. As a young designer, I remember being a little jealous of peers winning awards.  These days, I'm more concerned with getting the solution right for the brand. But, I mean, I'm not complaining or anything…
