Introduction.

the laurissilva forest has a vast and rich natural heritage that not only belongs to all Madeirans but also to humankind. it is located essentially on the northern coast of the island.
it has a huge biodiversity with emphasis on fauna and flora, being flora the theme of this journal. in this forest, there is also various climatic plant communities, as "Laurissilva do Barbusano, do Til e do Vinhático". The following plants are found on one of these floors.
Plants of the Barbusano Laurissilva
barbusan is a plant of the botanical genus lauraceae. it presents itself as a large tree, which can reach 25m in height.
it belongs to ruscaceae botanical family and presents itself as a branched perennial shrub.
shrubby, perennial and climbing plant, of convolvulaceae family. has ovate to lanceolate leaves, from 4 to 11cm of length.
"holly" comes from the aquifoliaceae family and shows itself as a tree up to 6.5m high, with a greyish trunk and ovate, shiny and entire leaves.
shows itself as a plant with flower, shrubby, perennial and climbing with aerial roots, belonging to araliaceae family.
small fast-growing tree of the botanical genus morella, belonging to myricaceae family. its leaves are dark green, simple and persistent.
subspecies of flowering plant belonging to the family ericaceae. it is a shrub which can reach up to 4m in height.
is a small tree that can reach up to 10m in height, with aromatic flowers. it comes from the clethraceae family.
from lauraceae family, it is a tree that can reach 25m height, with a broad, rounded crown and lanceolate leaves in green tons, becoming red through the years.
it is a small evergreen tree, growing between 3 and 15m. its rind is dark brown, the leaves are alternate, oval and dark green. it belongs to the rosaceae family.
plant of the laurus botanical genre, from lauraceae family. it presents itself as a tree up to 20m height, with a very dense crown and variable leaves, lanceolate and aromatic, with 5 to 17 centimetres in length.
