Pattern Collection
New Yorkers have a raging passion for their city. The I Heart NY pattern collection is meant to support a campaign to remind New Yorkers why they love their city.
New Yorkers will brag that they have the best parks, tallest buildings, the best food, the most litter, the dirtiest homeless people, etc. They might even brag about the traffic conditions. I thought that a pattern that reflects the busyness of New York City streets would be something New Yorkers might be proud of and, therefore, something to use as the pattern for this campaign.
I decided to name my hero pattern "Street Life"
my secondary pattern is named "Crosswalk"
and my blender pattern is named "Signs"
Above and below are example mockups that demonstrate how the campaign might be presented. Using signs and advertisement displays to exhibit the movement.
I chose to create a pattern that included bright colors and smiling faces.
This is meant to contrast the real-life nature of New York City streets, a cruel and rugged place. This allows the campaign to stand out.
