A bachelor of arts in business economics graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Darrach Bourke is a financial advisor with Emerson Equity in Santa Mateo, California. He is a broker-dealer and a registered investment advisor. Passionate about community involvement, Darrach Bourke supports several organizations, including the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center (SFCAPC).

Founded over 40 years ago, SFCAPC, renamed Safe & Sound in 2017, partners with local nonprofits to prevent and reduce the impact of child abuse and neglect. The group also aims to foster healthy families and promote the mental health of children. The organization concentrates on vulnerable families and communities and partners with San Francisco County authorities, the Children’s Advocacy Center of San Francisco (CAC), and other organizations involved with preventing child, intimate partner, and elderly abuse. The support primarily takes the form of healing and therapy services.

Safe & Sound also educates members of the community on preventing, recognizing, and reporting abuse through various programs. The first is offering safety lessons to K-5th graders on personal safety, developing a system of support, and assertiveness. The second, targeted at parents and caregivers, focuses on communicating with children in unsafe scenarios and preventing potential abuse. Other educational programs include mandated reporter training and insights into the impacts of violence.
