In 2018, 7-Eleven Hawaii partnered with local ice cream maker, Franny’s Hawaiian Ice Pops, to develop a kulolo flavor ice cream bar sold exclusively at 7-Eleven Hawaii stores. A unique package design was needed. 

Kuolo is a chewy and dense dessert, made of grated taro and coconut cream. I saw similarities in the blocky qualities of the 7-Eleven Hawaii brand font and the kulolo in packaged form, as it was sold in stores. Using the flavor name as a focal point of the design, I created a type treatment and created a pattern of the stylized version of the dessert.
