This collection portrays the ties between physical and psychological metamorphosis and the strength it takes to regain and rebuild yourself. With each experience we have, whether it be good or bad, it changes our perspective/out look on life and how we move forward. It allows us to take what we have learned from previous relationships/interactions and apply progressive qualities to one’s in the future.
In this collection there is a mix of hard and soft materials. The body of each garment is constructed with wool/wool blends, while integrating leather that acts as the armor and silk charmeuse, sunburst accordion pleating that signifies resilience in the narrative of “Metamorphic Warrior”.
The tops in each look are constructed asymmetrically. I aimed to have a steady flow from left to right in the line-up that displays how shape and form can guide the eye from one look to the next. This is shown by different elements of the garment intersecting and crossing from front to back, side to side. There is also a build up of pleating throughout the collection that creates fluidity amongst the weight of the leather and wool.

My goal was to create a visual and wearable representation of an individual transcending through the metamorphic bounds.
