THE IDITAROD
The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, more commonly known as The Iditarod, is an annual 938 miles (1,1510 km) sled dog race run in early March. It travels from Anchorage to Nome, entirely within the US state of Alaska.
50 miles from the start, people wait by a large fire on the frozen Yetna River to wish the dog mushers and their dogs good luck.
