CRAFT
February 10th - March 8th, 2022 | Media Art
Project type: Individual
Completed for: Bachelor of Environmental Design, Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba, Department of Interior Design | 4th year
Programs used: Adobe Animate, Illustrator, Premiere Pro
Every artistic creation is connected to all that
precedes it, and the artists to each other across
time. Present and future methods build on past
efforts to pioneer, innovate, and express. As such,
no work of art stands alone. Evolving modes
of artistic expression continue to celebrate the
tradition of craft – the joyful and meditative state
of creation.
Combining both digital and analog works, Craft is a short film created to document and express the inner emotive state of artistic creation. The filmed clay-making and molding process shares the physical, visual, and auditory experience, while cutaways to vibrant and flowing animated shorts express the inner emotional joy and euphoria of the artistic experience.
This media art project served as a preliminary exploration and "way in" to a fourth year interior design studio on the development of a media arts centre - find the related project here.
