Designed for a fourth year interior design studio focusing on media arts education, CRAFT Media Arts Centre is located at 310 Ross Avenue in downtown Winnipeg, Canada. The centre welcomes students and teachers of all artistic disciplines to share their passion and knowledge in social, learning, and exhibition spaces that encourage interdisciplinary crossover between analog and digital mediums. To support this, the centre features open work spaces, specialized studios, a large, double-volume gallery space in the heart of the building, and a lively cafe, bar, and bookstore on the main floor.
Arch and curve motifs repeat throughout the building, contributing to a whimsical and lively atmosphere in creams and pinks, contrasted by seafoam green and accented with gold, marble, black metal, glass, and mirrors and playfully riffing on beloved Art Deco styles - with a contemporary twist.
