Stky is a side project—an app I designed and built myself. It's a unique to-do list, designed to save people from themselves and give them a greater sense of control over their lives.
The idea: it's quick and easy to capture things you need to do, but they go into a hidden "drawer." Your day is represented by a sticky note, which you fill from the drawer each morning. Don't finish everything? The sticky empties out every night so you start fresh the next day and things don't get out of hand. Stky's information architecture is novel enough that I spent a lot of time on the onboarding process. Carefully-tuned animations and in-place hints guide the user through creating her first task.
