WHAT IS ENGINEERED WOOD?

MAIN TYPES
As far as types of engineered hardwood flooring are concerned there are three main types on the basis of construction.
PLYWOOD CONSTRUCTION
It is very much most used Engineered hardwood floor , in this core is made up of layers of plywood whereas top layer is made of solid hardwood. Top layer and the core are put together using adhesive. Depending upon the thickness desired number of plywood layers are used. Hardwood top layer thickness and the quality off plywood used very much dictates the quality of engineered wood and ultimately engineered hardwood flooring.
SPF CONSTRUCTION
Here the core is made of SPF instead of plywood , SPF is nothing but combination of Spruce , pine and Fur in a  particular ratio. These three constituents of SPF are firstly cut and then they are arrayed into pickets which are placed in the perpendicular direction of the hardwood lamella.
HDF CORE
It is not so popular and it won’t be wrong to say that these are least used of all the three types of engineered hardwood floorings. HDF stands for high density fiberboard which is core material in this particular type of engineered wood. Hardwood is glued to a HDF base which makes engineered hardwood.
