TVS The Responsible Manhole

Every year, Mumbai faces heavy rains. Despite severe flooding, Mumbaikars have no choice but to go to work. A 150-year-old drainage system, locals leaving manholes open to drain rainwater and manhole cover theft worsen the issue. Hidden under waterlogged streets, open manholes turn fatal for bikers and pedestrians.

TVS, India’s third largest two-wheeler and Mumbai Municipal Corporation collaborated to design an innovative, warning device to make Mumbai’s streets safer by alerting commuters and passersby about the presence of open manholes.

This campaign won Silver in SPIKES ASIA 2023 Applied Innovation category.
