Elfin Forest
Abstract
In week 4, I had the opportunity to travel and photograph Elfin Forest. I captured the essence of nature which I found myself acknowledging and being present with my surroundings which ignited my spark for creativity in this assignment. The goal was to capture 4 photos that represent light, lines, pattern, and texture and conceptualize in form of abstract. I photographed the roots of a tree that sat next to a creek. I fell in love with the way the light was hitting the roots, additionally, I edited the original and enhanced the contrast, and dimmed the shadows. Followed by the lonely branches of the trees along the creek. These had already had a distorted feel so I thought monochrome would emphasize it how I imagined it. Along the trail there were many ferns, and this specific fern caught my eye with its petite leaf patterns. I had fun editing and alternating with tones and hues for it. Lastly, for texture I snapped a shot of a rock, I like that the image not only captures the details of the grain but also it has a diagonal composition with light vs dark.
