My obsession with light and its fascinating properties constitute the cornerstone of my photography. Barbra seemed excited and fascinated by my lighting techniques; we talked animatedly about the relationship between color, light  and atmosphere.  She understood and shared in my passion for light and the emotional power that it can lend to an image.  I felt the presence of a kindred spirit which helped to alleve my anxieties about working with this legend and in turn, inspired a creative energy within me.  It was from this point that I felt confident in conveying my ideas to her.  She showed up sporting her Nikon on most of the shoots; I honestly felt that she was taking this opportunity to learn more about photography and lighting.  I felt complimented and impressed by the level of her involvement in each shot.
