NEW YORK TIMES COVER, EDUCATING GENERATION Z.

The New York Times commissioned me to design the cover art for the learning section highlighting an article entitled “Educating Gen Z”. I wanted to communicate the idea of education simply and quickly, so I built a large ‘Z’ by using the tip of two graphite pencils as the counter-forms of the letter. Using dark yellow color as a reference to the classic number two pencil. The result is a bold and graphic cover highlighting the gap families must fill between the price of college and the aid they receive.
