Industrial Design
For this project, we were asked by the mexican based company AlEn to develop a dishwashing soap dispenser. This new product had to be exclusively designed for the Eficaz's soap bottle, one of the most popular brands in the AlEN's family.
Our main target was the mexican housewife. We were focused on developing something that could be easily manufactured, attractive and innovative. Our main goal was to come up with a product that the user could effortlessly employ and make their washing chores more quickly.
Once the design brief was settled, we researched on the way that our target washed dishes. We found out that most of them made a solution of water and soap in a bowl, then dipped the sponge in the mix and rubbed it onto the dish. An insight was discovered: dipping is easy.
We thought on a mechanism based on gravity. The bottle is inserted on the top's cavity and the fluid will start to flow to the front container. According to the fluid's law, the liquid will stop passing through unless the level of the container is low.
Our mission was to bring our user an empathic result; something that will make their daily routine a little bit easier. We wanted to create a piece that will make them enjoy other moments by having more spare time outside the kitchen.
At the end, all we wanted our user to say is "I've got nothing to do today but smile."
