Im a little bothered by the fact that inside Microsoft the Windows 8 team, the Xbox team and the Windows Phone 7 team are all using the Metro interface but none are following the same design guidelines, after watching Microsoft's E3 (2011) brief I realized that the Xbox team has the best understanding of Metro's functionality and added their own fresh visual style to it.
I'm a big fan of WP7, but I have only been able to use it a few times, i like the interface, and understand what the WP7 team created, which they call "a true digital interface" and while the beautiful animations and innovative UX is breath of fresh air to the mobile market, it lacks the "refinement (shiny, chrome)" that users have come to expect from interfaces.
