Located in a cliff from Douro’s river, in the sunny side, lies an unoccupied terrain for which a proposal of a pilgrim lodging was developed. There’s an interesting relation from this site, to the nearby cathedral and the very ancient paths that lead to the religious cult of Santiago. The shelter is a formal union of the program to the precipitated terrain itself, modelling its structure and volumes to give the appearance of modern volumes that emerge from the rough granite stone to give shelter to those that make the journey.
