Ju Schnee Corporate Identity and Bespoke Variable Font

〔EN〕 A new corporate identity was developed for artist Ju Schnee in early 2022. Ju Schnee's art is a dialogue between an abstract painted world and the physical object. A balance of imagination, manifestation and reaction. From abstract painting to manifested sculpture to reaction via augmented reality and a return to the digital world. To make this dialogue visible, a custom monospaced (derived from the first computer fonts) typeface called "DS Mah..." was developed. This font was conceived and implemented as a variable font that can transform from a normal into a true italic. This font and the dialog between normal and italic became a design element that runs through the entire identity.

〔DE〕 Für die Künstlerin Ju Schnee wurde Anfang 2022 eine neue Corporate Identity entwickelt. Die Kunst von Ju Schnee ist ein Dialog zwischen einer abstrakten gemalten Welt und dem physischen Objekt. Ein Gleichgewicht von Imagination, Manifestation und Reaktion. Von der abstrakten Malerei über die manifestierte Skulptur bis hin zur Reaktion mittels Augmented Reality und der Rückkehr in die digitale Welt. Um diesen Dialog sichtbar zu machen wurde eine eigene Monospaced (abgeleitet von den ersten Computerschriften) Schrift mit Namen „DS Mah…“ entwickelt. Diese Schrift wurde als Variable Font konzipiert und umgesetzt, die sich ausgehend aus einer Normalen in eine echte Italic transformieren kann. Diese Schrift und der Dialog zwischen Normalen und Italic wurde zum Gestaltungselement, dass sich durch die komplette Identity zieht.
