Victoria Records

VICTORIA RECORDS

Victoria Records is a 25 million dollar project which includes World-Class recording studios, a label, a publisher, and Victoria Films, their sister film production company. Some of the studio’s clients include Morrissey, The Strokes, M.I.A, Intocable, Korn and the list goes on. Founded and creatively directed by Grammy-nominated producer Victoria Kühne and designed by the Malvicino Design Group. Victoria Records is a 1940s mansion situated on a hilltop overlooking the city in one of Monterrey’s most active suburbs and has been ranked one of the top 12 recording studios in the world and the top one in Latin America.

As a woman leading the music industry in Latin America, Victoria Kühne wanted to incorporate the female symbol into the logo while also bringing together the icon associated with the planet Venus to honor Botticelli’s Venus from the “Birth of Venus” since Venus has been her constant alter ego throughout all her music and visuals. This is how we came up with the idea to turn her name into a logo full of women empowerment in a very male-dominated industry while also honoring her artistic side.

Victoria riding the lion is a tribute to her Zodiac sign Leo and is one of three images portraying Victoria in different settings related to her birth chart and background as a person and as an artist. We decided to do three images so the three main studios could each have a different concept with only the textual logo tying them together.

We worked on the main illustration for her brand and studios with digital and hand drawing techniques which are now showcased in every part of the branding from merchandise, control room screens, the main live room, and everything involving Victoria.
