Cartier-Roberval Augmented Journey

In the form of an augmented journey, the visitor is invited to go in search of immersive content hidden under his feet, on this archaeological site of Cap Rouge, in Quebec. Anchored in Indigenous and French human stories, the experience revolves around the encounter and dialogue between cultures. With this mixed reality mobile app, the visitor discovers the history of the Cartier-Roberval archaeological site which bears witness to the first French colonization in America.
This augmented journey accompanies the visitor by showing him or her the invisible past. An AR golden thread guides the visitor and audio clips tell the story of this Quebec historic site. The objective here is to make the stones and the soil speak and to bring the site back to life as it once was, by allowing the visitor to listen to audio capsules detailing human stories.
Arrived to the bridge, the visitor passes through a portal and time travel to 16th century.  In this VR view, the visitor can virtually manipulate versions scans of artifacts found during archaeological digs, and view settlement buildings as they once were, where they are today.
