Splitbeam
Split Beam is designed for Surf Lifesaving canoe racing – an intense water sport where four paddlers using waka-style paddles to propel the team through the surf.
The current canoes are double-hulled, and are connected by two steel beams that are fiber-glassed into both hulls at each end. This makes them heavy, hard to transport and store.
The Split Beam design allows the canoe to be separated into four parts: two canoe hulls, and two beams, improving the overall convenience and accessibility for the club members.
