Anger Management Mug

Just as anger is a multi faceted aspect of our lives the anger themed project has allowed me to create many different and interesting pieces,  this one my personal favorite for many reasons from concept to its execution.
For a long time I knew anger could lead to destructive behavior, from spur of the moment flares to long term ranting. It was this that spawned the mugs concept, as if in a rage someone threw their mug against the wall then realized what they done and tried to put it back together, the irony being the mug was from an anger management course they had taken.
Though it looks simple it required experimentation and research. Once I attained a mug I had to experiment with different methods to write eligibly on its face, after which I needed to research how to bake the mug so the words wouldn't smug off in the future.
The following step I really enjoyed, wrapping the mug in a blanket to keep the pieces together and wearing gloves for safely I smash the mug with a hammer which, as luck would have it, was right between the two words creating the nice radiating crack pattern, a happy accident Bob Ross would say. At that point all I had to do was glue it back together and add the tape and band aids for aesthetics with a style choice to leave a hole at the cracks center.

Though it's not the most complex project I have created, or the prettiest, it has become a project for myself and a reminder that the simplest of designs can be the most enjoyable.
