OVERVIEW
This project was my 15-month long Master's thesis project at SVA, My partner and I have designed a sustainable online educational collaboration system between rural and urban schools to try to change the current situation in China where the gap between urban and rural educational resources is too wide.
Output and Strategy
The goal of this project is to advance equity in educational resources in China.
Working with a rural school in Lanzhou, China, and three universities in Beijing and Los Angeles, my partners and I sought to improve the gap in the quality of education between rural and urban schools in the arts and culture using a sustainable online teaching model we designed to build partnerships between urban and rural schools.
By creating connections between urban and rural schools, we can transfer excellent teacher resources to rural school classrooms through online education at minimal cost, allowing progressive educational ideas and methods to reach rural school classrooms without the constraints of traffic jams and long distances.
This collaborative project is still running, and our next goal is to find the possibilities of this model in more disciplines.
