The house owned by Mr. Wahab Arshad was built in 1924, additional work for the back of the house was done in 1940. The house is now inhabited by Mrs. Normala Ali who is the heir to the owner of this house. Like other Malacca Malay houses, this heritage house also has a special veranda for guests who come and also a place to be with the family in their free time. Among the specialties of this heritage house is the retention of traditional features on the floral carvings on the windows and still use wood that has a high standard to maintain the integrity of the house. Rumah Warisan Wahab Arshad was inaugurated and named Rumah Tradisional Pondok Kempas Jasin by the Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Seri Hj. Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam on 24 December 2001.
