On the occasion of the four hundredth anniversary of his birth, the Museum of Fine Arts in Seville offered a selection of fifty-five works by Murillo. The universal artist identified with Seville interpreting the themes of his devotion, decorating some of its most notable monuments with his paintings and portraying its inhabitants whatever their social category. This exhibition was a unique opportunity to meet many of his works and to discover others. The exhibition allowed us to contemplate how in them the genius of the technical and compositional resources is united with the profoundly human gaze that the painter confers on them.
