When Daddy's a Graphic Designer...

When Daddy's a Graphic Designer...

The results of my handiwork are presented below. It took me a while to remember that fluorescent colours cannot be reproduced within the RGB gamut, so the photos are more subdued than the actual items. I should have paid closer attention to those first-year Colour Theory lectures!
The party invitations took the form of  two “tickets”...the first to the fashion show, & the second to the after party. The tickets were held together by a coloured paper band, on which was printed a cropped, halftone image of a fashion model.
Ticket package detail. Each coloured band had a different cropping of the halftone image...making each invitation somewhat unique.
Deconstructed package, showing both tickets & coloured band. Type set in Neuropol & SaxMono. The tickets were very well received, resulting in close to three dozen 12-year-old girls in attendance...a truly terrifying experience.
Front of CD sleeve. The sleeve design is a single colour (black) printed on fluorescent coloured paper stock...the same paper stock used on the ticket bands. Four colours were used, & distributed at random to the party attendees.
Each CD sleeve, label, & the ticket band uses a cropping of the same image...a found low-resolution image of a fashion model converted to a halftone & bitmapped. The image wraps around the sleeve and continues on the back.
The CD is packaged in a simple 2-panel sleeve, opening at the right side. The track list appears on the back of the sleeve.
The CD uses a slightly smaller & less severely cropped version of the halftone image. It was designed to compensate for variations in alignment common with inexpensive home laser printers.
Back of CD sleeve, showing the track list. My daughter chose the tracks which appear on the CD...I assure you, the Ke$ha was not my idea. All type set in Neuropol.
Back of CD sleeve, showing the wraparound halftone image. An extended version of the track list was played at the party, & was generally well received...but SOMEONE always complains, & this event was no exception.
