Family Crest

I originally planned to use this simplified version of my family crest as a personal logo. I decided not to use it as a logo, but I really liked the way the project turned out so I turned it into a poster. I added the helm, the scrolls and the background. I had it printed up and gave it to my brother as a birthday present. I sketched the elements and then drew them up in Illustrator with the pen tool. The colors and effects were added in Photoshop. For the background, I downloaded a sample of the MacIntyre War Plaid from the Internet and created a pattern in Photoshop that I place on a white base and then added the border with a soft brush tool.
