UX Problem:
 Inefficiencies in the Trade and Travel Coordination Application


Background:

 Users of our trade and travel coordination application, designed for professionals whose work involves traveling, are facing challenges in effectively managing their trades and coordinating travel plans. The current user experience lacks seamless integration between trade-related activities and travel logistics, leading to inefficiencies and potential disruptions in users' work schedules.



Problem Description:

1-Disconnected Work and Travel Planning:
Users struggle to seamlessly integrate their trade-related tasks with travel plans. The current application does not provide a unified platform for coordinating work assignments, client meetings, and travel arrangements, leading to disjointed planning.
2-Ineffective Communication Channels:
Users find it challenging to communicate with colleagues, clients, or team members while on the move. The existing communication channels within the app may not be robust or flexible enough to support real-time collaboration during travel.
3-Lack of Personalization for Travel Preferences:
Users express frustration with the limited personalization options for managing travel preferences. The application does not adapt well to individual preferences, such as preferred airlines, hotels, or transportation modes, resulting in a less-than-optimal travel experience.



Proposed Solutions:

1-Integrated Work and Travel Dashboard:
Develop a unified dashboard that integrates trade-related tasks and travel plans. This dashboard should provide a holistic view of upcoming trades, associated travel itineraries, and any potential conflicts or overlaps.
2-Enhanced Communication Features:
Implement robust communication features within the application, facilitating real-time collaboration among users. This could include instant messaging, video conferencing, and document sharing capabilities accessible both on desktop and mobile devices.
3-Personalized Travel Preferences:
Introduce a section within the application where users can set and customize their travel preferences. This includes options for preferred airlines, hotels, transportation modes, and other travel-related details. The application should use this information to optimize travel recommendations.



User Flow:

1-Unified Work and Travel Overview:
Design a central dashboard that displays upcoming trades, associated deadlines, and travel plans in a single, easy-to-read interface.
Allow users to drill down into specific trades or travel details for more in-depth information.
2-Seamless Communication Integration:
Integrate communication tools directly into the application, enabling users to connect with colleagues, clients, or team members effortlessly.
Ensure that communication features are accessible both on desktop and mobile devices, catering to users on the move.
3-Travel Preferences Management:
Create a user profile section where individuals can input and update their travel preferences.
Use this information to personalize travel recommendations and streamline the booking process.



Measuring Success:

1-User Engagement Metrics: 
Track improvements in user engagement by monitoring the frequency and depth of interactions with the unified work and travel dashboard.
2-Communication Effectiveness:
Measure the impact of the enhanced communication features by assessing user feedback on real-time collaboration experiences.
3-User Satisfaction Surveys: 
Conduct regular surveys to gather feedback on the personalized travel preferences feature and overall improvements in the user experience.



By addressing these UX challenges and implementing the proposed solutions, our aim is to create a more efficient and user-friendly trade and travel coordination application, empowering professionals to seamlessly manage their work and travel commitments with ease.



Travelling Tradies is a marketplace startup that connects tradies to venues, where they exchange their skills for stay, experiences or services. As a UI/UX designer, I am responsible for:

All CX/UI/UX – Platform, Mobile Web & Mobile Apps (IOS & Android)
Redesigning and Implementation of all needed pages
Low and High fidelity mockups
Creating interacting prototypes
Reviewing, Updating, controlling and completing all related documentation
Reviewing all User flows to , redesigning and creating
Machine Learning Tool / Video Recognition – Hammer redesign
Brand, Messaging & Styleguide adherence on fonts, colours and images etc
Graphic design and creation of any assets needed for platform/apps or media
Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows, customer journeys and sitemaps
Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
Building page navigation buttons and search fields
Developing UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
Creating original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables, banners, headers etc)
Preparing and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
Identifing and troubleshooting UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
Conducting layout adjustments based on user feedback
