EDITORIAL PROJECT the objective of which was to design the layout and visuals of the article by Justin Ward titled 'Was Charles Manson a CIA lab rat?'
My thorough analysis of the article helped me identify the themes of 'mystery', 'concealment' and 'fabricating the truth' present within it, and wanted my visuals and the article layout itself to communicate them.
To achieve that, I created abstract images and I used mediums to reinforce the metaphors, for instance bleach was a metaphor for harm and erasing communicated removing something.
The spread design featured a lot of space around the small, sometimes almost illegible text which is how I decided to show the idea of mystery and everything we will never know about the events described in the article.
