The outside of the book - leather bound, the pages are tied together with brown lace. I wanted the outside of the book to have a natural look.

Foreword & first page of the book - I covered the inside cover of the book with some patterned paper that I bought. The paper is covered in envelopes, I chose this design because Darwin wrote over 1500 letters during his lifetime

An illustration showing Darwins development through life. My story had him being raised by monkeys, and evolving into a scientist with a botanical camera for a head. This piece was inspired by the evolution of man illustration showing how man has evolved over time.

Charles time at Edinburgh University

According to my version of events, Charles would sit in his aviary and write letters to other scientists that would be delivered by the pigeons he bred.
