SELF-PORTRAIT VS SELFIE
What makes these images eye catching is how much of a difference there is if a filter is used or not. in my opinion, the image on the left is better because of the lighting used. The increase of sunlight can be linked to reducing mental health issues as to natural light triggers our serotonin to release.

ARCHITECTURE
In this topic, Eugene Atget's and Leana Cagnotto's photographs will be used as references to my photographs (which look kind of like them but different)
The Built Environment
The 1st photograph was in reference to Hélène Binet who is an architectural photographer and the 2nd photograph was in reference to Naoya Hatakeyama, He's a Japanese photographer who's work explores human interaction with natural and landscape materials, including life of cities and built environment.
ENVIROMENT
Carrie Mae Weems has inspired me in creating something interesting but challenging to produce.

I took inspiration from her and produced this photograph to showcase not only what its like to live alone but also as a student.
The photographs feature a succession of staged scenes that explore female identity, experiences, and relationships in the context of a traditionally female domain.
Employing visual performance, image making, and a compelling narrative text, the powerful series provides a lens through which to view a woman's life.
NATURE
Influenced by Richard Moose
When I first looked further into Richard Mosse's pieces, I was heavily inspired by not only how he develops them to create an unique image simply by using film but how he uses different kinds of techniques to create something astonishing.
Platon, 2012                                                                                       Vintage violence, 2011
Traditionally, the palette of war photography has been portrayed as brown, green, black, and red. But in Enclave, Richard Mosse uses camouflage, dirt, guns, and blood. He shone new light on the way conflict is covered.
He explained why uses these new approaches in his photographs. He states:
"I go to great lengths to keep my work as open as possible in terms of significance, trying especially hard to avoid didacticism. So the viewer can bring whatever they like to the work and its unusual colours. I suppose for me, though, the colours are deeply emotional, as I have developed a strong affinity for eastern Congo over my many journeys in the region.

So, for me, it’s a deeply personal response rather than a deliberately didactic provocation. If people are moved by the work to take a longer look at the humanitarian disaster in eastern Congo, that is superb."
