Finite Element Analysis - Human Eye

Figure on Right - Retinal Detachment , Figure on Left - Scleral Buckle
1/4th Geometry of the Human Eye was constructed, making the assumption that human eye is symmetrical.
PROJECT NAME - Finite Element Analysis of Contact between Scleral Buckle & Human Eye Tissues
The research aims to find out the critical regions of Human Eye by analyzing the issue of Scleral Buckle Surgery (done to solve the issue of Retinal Detachment) by evaluating the biomechanical stresses & deformations after scleral buckle is fitted on the eye.

Along the axial length, the Human Eye tends to deform. It may result in -
a) Damage of the Optic Nerve.
b) Light Rays may not converge on retina, which may lead to myopia (near sightedness).
