A two week workshop on interpreting the existing and imagining the new with Ms. Brigitt Egloff from Lucerne University of Applied Science and Arts.The brief was to create prints for fashion fabric collection for the European market with distinct Indian Touch. A free rein over over design theme and colour schemes was given.
The print treatment closely follows the Inspiration-Tholu Bommalata of Andhra Pradesh.
It celebrates mythology through puppetry.
Initial Sketches: the outline sketches of various natya mudra’s (dance) for print from dictionary.
The subsequent filling of silhouettes with intricate motifs/buti designs.
Colour/treatment exploration with various mediums like photo ink, water colour, poster colours, steadler pencils .
The final forms colour treated in photoshop- vivid colours as per the colour palette.
