The 2022 Bronx 10 Miler Presented by New York Road Runners 

Jennifer Heiner is a former retail director at a New Jersey running company. Working closely with the company's founders, Jennifer Heiner assisted with the operation of three retail stores that furnish high-end performance apparel. This required managing inventory control and hiring new associates during peak shopping periods. Additionally, she aided the company's business development initiatives, which include hosting multiple races each year. In this capacity, the company offers coaching, race directing, and organizational assistance, from ensuring aid stations are stocked to securing winners' medals. Prior to that retail director position, Jennifer Heiner helped to coordinate foster families at a dog rescue in New Jersey. As part of her responsibilities, she worked to expand the organization’s impact by recruiting more foster families and volunteers. She also assisted in providing more than 100 dogs a month with foster homes by addressing immediate issues that might arise during the fostering experience. 

She prepared for her career by earning a bachelor’s degree in political science and ethics from Lehigh University. She earned multiple distinctions as a student, such as achieving the Faculty Invitational for Outstanding Scholars and membership in The National Scholars Honor Society.

Currently, Jennifer Heiner works as inside sales for a small business in North Jersey. She also works and volunteers for NYCRUNS and New York Road Runners. Jennifer Heiner has been an athlete her whole life - swimming competitively up until college and playing field hockey and lacrosse as well. Once college and competitive sports was over, Jennifer Heiner turned to running as a fun way not only to stay in shape, but to foster her competitive side and see how far she could progress and push herself. 

Yesterday was the Bronx 10 Miler, presented by New York Road Runners, and Jennifer Heiner had the opportunity to participate in the event as a race day support associate, assigning bibs to runners on race morning.  According to NYRR's website, "Boogie down in the Bronx with a 10-mile race through this vibrant New York City borough on Sunday, September 18. The 2022 New Balance Bronx 10 Mile promises to be an even bigger and better event for all runners, their friends, and their family. The New Balance Bronx 10 Mile is the fourth event of our Five-Borough Series races, which showcases our renewed commitment to the individuals and communities in each borough. It is also the fifth event in the 2022 4 Out of 6 program."

This year featured an exciting finish, where the top Female finisher was a mere 5 minutes behind the top Male Finisher. Check out some of the stats from this year's NYRR Bronx 10M!
