Bo Cumagun's profile

Recombinant Simulacra

The life of forms resides in our minds. My work is a visual study in representational sculpture exploring the power of two or more forms as one. It is a reexamination of the simulacra [likeness] of the human form in fusion with other complex yet recognizable forms derived from mythical and personal imagery. In recombinant nature – interior and exterior spaces are altered, inherent characteristics are retained and similar structures are synthesized. The resulting anthropomorphic subject matter is an extension beyond established visual traditions and related contexts confirming the principle that the combination of forms is essentially a synthesis of ideas.
