Continuing with my color inversion experimentation, I drew the subject in the complementary colors and inverse shading of the desired final image. 

I staged the subject, photographed, created a digital negative, and then drew my version of the digital negative in colored pencil. I digitized my colored pencil drawing and then used photo editing software to invert the image back to its normal coloring. 

I am happy with the level of abstraction in the final image.
