The bulk of the condos at 425 Notre Dame are clustered into a tower, resting on parking and commercial space, and serviced by a pool deck. I saw an opportunity underneath that pool deck, where the massing was set by the existing historic facade. It was obvious that the two condo units filling in that facade were the runts of the litter and they were priced as such. However, with some obvious tweaks, they had the potential to be the best, by far, in the building and so I placed a deposit on the larger (the smaller being purchased as an accessory studio space by a penthouse owner). 

 

Over the course of an exciting month I worked with one of the team to exploit the possibilities of the unit. However, some of the promises that were made when they were trying to get me to purchase their least desirable unit were reversed as we neared construction. These broken promises, along with some false information, and my growing uncertainty about the restrictions of condo living, led me to withdraw my offer.
