Circular Fashion!
Idea 1
Join Us

Technique: Triplus Fineline and 2H graphite Pencil

Process: I started by developing a concept in my head and sketching them out in a number of thumbnails. I wanted to capture and appeal to young adults (20-25 high SES) and ability to create a community and support network that would encourage a circular fashion network. I roughly sketched three young adults in a brace together, then proceeded to outline a circular form surrounding them to represent a whole/world like form. After the initial sketch with pencil, I added the fineliner over the pencil in a somewhat broken line technique.

Reflection: Was not very happy with how the three people figures turned out, was hard to sketch them bracing each other. probably best not to include more than one figure.

Idea 2
Don't be that chick...
Technique: Triplus Fineline and 2H graphite Pencil

Process: I started by wanting to capture the idea that by not joining or being apart of a circular fashion cause, your clothes will just continue to pile over and over and one day just consume you. I am hoping to target young adults - possibly with a love for shooping and clothes, to create a poster that is persuading them to 'not be that chick' who has so many clothes that dont go anywhere but the bin. I again used my 2H graphite pencil to give myself a rough outline for how I wanted this poster to look, the proceeded to refine the outlines and detailing of this with a flowing line.

Reflection: There isn't much going on in the background in this piece and it may have been beneficial as white space can be helpful in drawing ones attention to the main pieces of the poster.

Idea 3
Get it Global
Technique: Triplus Fineline and 2H graphite Pencil

Process: Using the same process and materials as the other posters, I brainstormed a way to advocate a more global approach and create a clear flowing read that would target young adults. A womens model frame was used as a reference, to refer back to the fashion side of the cause. After sketching the model in 2H pencil, I continued with lines that I thought would stick out to young people. Once sketching the essential pieces and word components I proceeded to outline with my fineliner.
Reflection: It is hard to tell how effective a poster can be without colouring or many offical fonts but I thought this was the most effective poster compared to the others.

Final Poster

Technique: Triplus Fineline and 2H graphite Pencil, Canva

Process: Began with a simple sketch of a rough model outline using my 2H pencil then fineliner over that to better bold the figure, I then used the scanner on my phone to upload this onto my computer. Once this was done, I opened a slide in Canva and proceeded to upload my sketch then use the provided elements and overlap a world map to enhance the sketch and reinforce the global effect. Once these main elements were done I entered the main word context in different fonts and used only caps for better emphasis on specific words. Lastly I applied colour, deciding to go with hot pink and a variation for a soft brown and peach for the All Colour version. I applied the one colour to the original poster of black and white poster then once that was done, introduced a set of neutral soft tones for the next poster to maintain emphasis on the hot pink.

Reflection: Overall I think the poster with only the hot pink is better as the withe background helps create emphasis on the points that were used in pink.

END OF WEEK 4 REFLECTION
Quite enjoyed this weeks task as I felt really free in getting the choice of picking any cause and age group we wanted. Considering I am in the young adults group I felt this would be a good idea to go with for my poster as I relate more to this age and wouldn't trying to make assumptions of older age groups. Due to my poor experience in Adobe I didn't feel comfortable using other forms to make my poster as I have had such good experience with Canva over the years. Would love to build my confidence in other platforms however.
