The Periphery. Types and features of marginal art
Этот проект — визуальное исследование о маргинальном искусстве. В нём изучаются произведения искусства, сделанные художниками, которые принадлежат к различным типам маргинальности: политически-социальной, этнической, экономической, криминальной и биологической.
Первая глава книги посвящена основоположнику маргинального искусства
и популяризатора ар-брюта (с фр. Art brut — грубое искусство) — Жану Дюбюффе.
Во второй главе идёт речь о социально-политических маргиналах — беженцах
и политических заключённых.
В третьей главе — об этнических маргиналах. Это коренные народы и этносы, чьё искусство обособленно и независимо от западной цивилизации.
В четвёртой главе изучается искусство экономических маргиналов, или, проще говоря, бездомных.
В пятой главе рассказывается о криминальных маргиналах — творцах, которые создают искусство, находясь за решёткой.
Наконец, шестая глава посвящена биологической маргинальности, людям с физическими
и психологическими заболеваниями.
* Стоит отметить, что термин «маргинальность» используется в этом исследовании строго
в рамках социологической парадигмы и не несёт в себе негативного окраса.
This project is a visual study of marginal art. It studies works of art made by artists who belong
to different types of marginality: political-social, ethnic, economic, criminal and biological.
The first chapter of the book is dedicated to the founder of marginal art and popularizer of art brut (from French Art brut — rough art) — Jean Dubuffet.
The second chapter deals with socio-political outcasts — refugees and political prisoners.
In the third chapter — about ethnic marginals. These are indigenous peoples and ethnic groups, whose art is separate and independent from Western civilization.
The fourth chapter examines the art of the economic marginalized, or, more simply, the homeless.
The fifth chapter tells about criminal outcasts, who create art while in prison.
Finally, the sixth chapter is devoted to biological marginality, people with physical and psychological illnesses.
* It should be noted that the term "marginality" is used in this study strictly within the framework of the sociological paradigm and does not carry a negative connotation.
